EDITORIAL
During the last quarter of 2019, RGWE CSR actions included:
- Inauguration of the wind farm at site with some of the stakeholders, top management representatives of the shareholders and the main contractors.
- Celebrating the completion of the construction works at a party organized on 5th of December 2019 at Fairmont Nile City Hotel, Cairo.
RGWE is now establishing its year 2020 CSR Plan. This plan will include, as previous years, activities centered on heath & education for the benefit of Ras Ghareb communities. The plan will include scholarships, support to schools and medical facilities .
Inauguration of RGWE wind farm
On December 5th 2019, RGWE celebrated the inauguration of the 262.5 MW wind farm which is the first wind energy independent power producer in Egypt. The Commercial Operation Date was reached on the 31st of October 2019, 1.5 month ahead of the original schedule.

RGWE CSR Coordination
Ms. Gawhara Abdelrahman is the CSR & Site Admin Officer of RGWE. She has been a 24/7 support for the Ras Ghareb team on site and makes a wonderful work in regards to the social activities of the company. She is also performing Stakeholders Engagement, being the contact person with local authorities and the municipality representatives. Always there for all, finding a solution for every problem. A strong woman in a man’s world ! Here below, her picture with Gen. Ashraf Hassaneim, representative of the armed forces of Red Sea region.
Health & Safety
After 2 years of construction completed, we proudly achieved 3.5 million safe hours, without lost time injury.
Now, the plant entered into the operations phase. Therefore, new procedures has been put in place with a new focus on maintenance activities.
Our Long Term Service Agreement contractor, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energies is now mobilized at site, tackling new challenges in regards of health & safety.
